Week 1
Session 1
(Reference in video to Romans 16:13 is actually John 16:13)
Session 1 question from a participant:
“What if you don’t know your purpose? How do you come to know what your purpose is in life if you’re not sure what it is right now?”
Response from Jacqueline:
“It’s a matter of doing life with Him. There’s a reason why you are here, born now as opposed to 500 years ago. God knows what that reason is. And, like I mentioned, if we’re born again, His Spirit is on the inside of us, and His Spirit knows why He created YOU, and for what purpose. Because His Spirit lives in us, we can know for what purpose He created us for, too! It’s just a matter of coming to Him every day. Remember, we talked about how, “with the same measure, the same level of intention, the same degree of priority that we give to studying the Truth and that we put on spending time with Him (and thereby know, for example, “God, why am I here?” “What is it for my life?”) is the measure/level/degree with which we will receive!” (The measure of thought and study you give to the truth you hear, will be the measure of virtue and knowledge that comes back to you, and more besides will be given to you who hear. Mark 4:24.) So let us come to Him, be with Him, not in a rushed way, but making time and space for Him in our day and to hear. He desires to speak to us. He tells us that as we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us! But, the main thing I would say is that revelation of our purpose is revealed in relationship. For example, if I meet someone for the first time, I don’t necessarily know why they are in my life; it may be for just that passing moment in time, it may be for a season, it may be for a lifetime. If I begin to build relationship with that person, the more I spend time with that person, understanding of their purpose in my life is made known: whether it’s to help with this or that, to play a certain role in my life (or me in theirs) for a certain time, as a friend or more, for encouragement or to be encouraged, whatever it may be and for however long. The more time that we spend together, the reason for why we are in each other’s lives is revealed. In the same way, the more time that we spend with the Lord, revelation of, “Why am I here?” is revealed. It’s birthed out of doing life with Him. It’s birthed out of relationship with Him. That’s how it is! Now, you may feel like, “Aw man! I wanted something more definite; like, give me these 5 steps.” The steps could be different for all of us! But, it will all be through relationship, as we’re simply doing life with the Lord. Every day He’ll show you this, and that, and turn this way, now do this thing, okay now write this down, talk to this person, go up to that person, buy that building, and so forth. He will direct you and guide you as you’re doing life with Him. Then, all of a sudden you find yourself, like, “Whoa!” You’re doing things that you weren’t doing a year ago or 6 months ago. And you’re so excited about it, feeling like, “Whoa, this is my work!! This! THIS is why I was born! THIS is why I was created!” And you may not have known it a year ago! You simply start walking with Him, and He starts opening up different doors, and closing other doors, and showing you things and revealing, and you’re writing down the things that He tells you . . . to where you have a whole journal(s) of things, of words He’s spoken to you that you can read back over. He will make it very clear: “This is the way, walk in it.” And as you walk in it, you will know, THIS is why I’m here; THIS is what my purpose is. And it’ll be a journey; a lifelong journey that He’ll just reveal more and more of each day: more and more goodness, more and more help, more and more resources. It’ll be exceeding, abundantly, beyond all you could have ever asked or imagined. He’s not going to show you the whole thing all at one time. He’ll say, “Do this.” And you’ll do it, and move forward in the right way. And then He’ll say, “Do that.” And you’ll do it, and move forward in the right way.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 >> “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” NKJV (“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” NLT)
Galatians 3:2-3 >> “This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?” NKJV (“Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort?” NLT)
Habakkuk 2:4 >> “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.” NKJV (“Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.” NLT)
